Cast Me Not Away From Your Presence 

Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me. 12 Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me. 13 Give me the joy of your saving help again  and sustain me with your bountiful Spirit.

Ever feel far removed from God? Ever have the sense that you just need to be held up and cared for? Ever feel that your failures and mistakes have come o define you? Take heart if you have. The Psalmist felt the same way. 

Like the Psalmist we can speak honestly to our Creator and lean on God to help us, sustain us, renew us. 

Lent allows is the opportunity to engage those honest conversations . Take time today to ask God for the saving help that you need. 

I write this as I my face is freezing to go under the drill – so I pray; 

Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me. Give me the joy of your saving help again and sustain me with your bountiful Spirit.
