Seek good and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, just as you have said. Hate evil and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.
This passage from Amos chapter 5 in today’s daily office readings is a reminder seek the light of Christ in all things. We live in a world which emphasizes darkness, and elevates violence and affirms the ‘bad-ass!’ We are conditioned daily to focus on the train wrecks around us.
Perhaps this Lent, we could choose to turn our gaze towards that which we see around us which is good. Take some time today to let someone close to you know that they are loved. Choose to overlook those things that are less flattering, and offer a word of love in celebration of another’s goodness.
Very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Wonderful parents are never really lost as they live on in their children and even multiple generations in the future. We pass the goodness on and on. Jim
Thank you so much Jim.
I really appreciate your message
