Thanks for the Encouragment

Since I have announced my intention to raise funds for W.E. Care for Kids by joining the Moon in June 5 KM rune in June, you emails and notes of support and encouragement have been so very much appreciated. I have begun training and now will need your prayers and support more than ever.

I will have a sponsor sheet for our church this week at St. Mark’s. It is my hope that together we may raise a large amount for the Foundation and for the work that it does. I feel good knowing that the support of friends and family will help me get healthier, which I desperately need to do. I feel even better knowing that the support of friends and family will also benefit the well being of children who struggle with health concerns in Windsor Essex.

I am taking encouragement from the book of Hebrews chapter 12:

“So then let’s also run the race that is laid out in front of us, since we have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us. Let’s throw off any extra baggage, get rid of the sin that trips us up, 2 and fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. He endured the cross, ignoring the shame, for the sake of the joy that was laid out in front of him, and sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.”

I can do whatever is necessary because many witnesses have run this race. I may have the ability to achieve this goal, but I will lean more on the love and witnesses of a community of faith that I belong to. I have been fortunate to see many people overcome many obstacles in order to live life to the fullest. I will lean on what I see in those witnesses and I will lean on God to get me through the difficult days ahead.
