I absolutely loved Three’s Company. Great program with great laughs. The late John Ritter was a master at physical comedy. I can watch the reruns over and over – they still make me laugh out loud. My favorite episode was when Jack tool tranquilizers to be calm enough to fly to a party as Janet’s date. He takes too many and then drinks a ‘rocket’ on top of it…the he blasts off….the result is a hilarious dance peice that is a masterpiece of physical comedy.
The great German theologian Karl Barth wrote that “Laughter is the closest thing to the grace of God.” John Ritter really brought people to the full bodied experience of laughter as Jack Tripper. Indeed it was great God-filled experience to watch, to laugh and to be renewed by the laughter.
Finding a moment to laugh is critical for us in life…even sometime sin the midst of challenging times. I share this little clip of John Ritter because I believe that Red Skelton was right…”Live by this credo: have a little laugh at life and look around you for happiness instead of sadness. Laughter has always brought me out of unhappy situations.”
Enjoy … and have a great laugh!
