Have you ever watched a cat nap? I feel really jealous when I see our cats so peaceful and fulfilled, especially if I am having a long tiring day. Cats have a great look of peace and contentment when they nap. And believe me cats have great energy when they awake. There is a photo at the bottom of this blog of a cat napping – tell me it is not a picture of pure enjoyment.
So today I took a page out of the cats book. Catherinanne and I lay down in the mid-afternoon and took a nap. There was no one to take a picture so, I cannot say if we looked cute like the cat in the picture but one thing is for certain. It sure feels nice to have a little snooze when you are feeling sleepy.
We had a great morning at church. Everyone seemed to be in great Canada Day spirit. We began church with O Canada and ended with God Save the Queen. I felt real pride when we sang the anthem. I could feel a sense of pride from the congregation as well. We may not be as loud and outspoken about our pride in country as our American neighbours, but our love and care for nation is unmistakable. We have a lot to be proud of.
After church Catherinanne and I went to Café Crepe for lunch. We had heard lots about this place but had not yet tried it. It was fantastic. They do lunches in crepes or grilled panini sandwiches. It is a lovely place to have lunch. The dessert crepes looked wonderful – that will have to be another day. (By the way, the Thai Palace in Tecumseh was great last night. It is new so stop by and give it a try – it is in the Green Valley Plaza where the Gourmet Butcher used to be).
We prayed, we ate, we slept, now we are about to eat again and I’m hopeful there is more sleep in our future as well. You know if you take the praying out of it – we could be mistaken for cats. And what would be wrong with being a cat. Patricia McPherson said,
“I think it would be great to be a cat! You come and go as you please.
People always feed and pet you. They don’t expect much of you.
You can play with them, and when you’ve had enough, you go away.
You can pick and choose who you want to be around. You can’t ask for more than that.”
Sounds novel to me – but not real. So I have to go load a dishwasher. It was at least good to dream!
